Wardrobe Careers Internship Program

The Wardrobe Careers Internship program is a competitive paid internship opportunity for candidates interested in developing skills in customer service and retail sales. Career Wardrobe offers customer service training in a supportive environment that will prepare our interns for careers in sales and/or service. Applications are open three times per year.

Eligibility:   Internships are open to the public, with preference given to those pursuing careers in retail or fashion and/or enrolled in job training, re-entry, or educational (high school grades 11-12 or college) programs and/or referred through Career Wardrobe’s Referral Partner Members.  Interns should be able to commit to work 20 hours per week for the 12-week period, which may include evenings and Saturdays.
Internship Benefits:  During the 12-weeks, interns will learn and understand the importance of workplace norms and behaviors, specific retail and customer service skills, and employer expectations and responsibilities. Interns will be paid at stipend of $2,400 (based on $10/hour for up to 20 hours per week for 12 weeks) paid out twice a month. They will also be eligible for in-store discounts during their internship period.Internship Periods:  Depending on funding, Career Wardrobe will run three cohorts of the Wardrobe Careers Internship Program annually – February 1 – April 30; June 1- August 30; and October 1 – December 31.   For each Internship Period, Career Wardrobe will select up to 4 interns to work in two positions: Customer Service Internship and Online Sales Internship.

Internship Positions Available:

Customer Service Internship:  Are you interested in learning how to excel at customer service, the cornerstone of most positions?  This is an exciting opportunity for someone new to or re-entering the workforce, but needs to update their skills while having a supportive environment to learn. Interns will gain experience in both front and back of store tasks such as greeting and assisting customers, processing and tagging inventory, and creating merchandising displays.
Online Sales Internship:  Do you love shopping online and finding “diamonds in the rough” at resale stores?  This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in learning how to manage online retail sales.  The successful candidate will love fashion and is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized with excellent computer, social media, and communication skills.
