  • Job Search Activity: More likely to be called in for a job interview after applying for a job
  • Employment Status: Higher employment rate and are more likely to be employed in a job classified above entry level
  • Wage Rate and Reliance on Public Assistance: Higher overall wages and are less likely to continue relying on public benefits once working

Wardrobe Career Internship

The Wardrobe Careers Internship Program is a competitive paid internship opportunity for candidates interested in developing skills for jobs in customer service, retail sales, and the sustainable fashion industry. The Wardrobe offers customer service training in a supportive environment that will prepare our interns for careers facing the public (sales, healthcare, restaurants, and more). Applications are open three times per year.

Eligibility

Internships are open to the public, with preference given to those pursuing careers in retail or fashion and/or enrolled in job training, re-entry, or educational (high school grades 11-12 or college) programs, and/or referred through The Wardrobe’s Referral Partner members. Interns should be able to commit to work 20 hours per week for the 12-week period, which may include evenings and Saturdays.

Internship Benefits

During the 12 weeks, interns will learn and understand the importance of workplace norms and behaviors. They will gain specific retail and customer service skills, learning employer expectations and responsibilities. Interns will be paid a stipend of $2,400 (based on $10/hour for up to 20 hours per week for 12 weeks) paid out twice a month. They will also be eligible for in-store discounts during their internship period.

Timing and Application Process

Depending on funding, The Wardrobe will run three cohorts of The Wardrobe Careers Internship Program annually:

February 1 – April 30

June 1 – August 30

October 1 – December 31

For each internship period, The Wardrobe will select up to four interns for our customer service internship. To apply for a Wardrobe Careers Internship, please fill out this application completely and attach either your resume or link to your LinkedIn profile.
