Partner, Motivator, Educator, Friend – Career Wardrobe’s Many Hats Showcased at Pipeline Philly Mission Update

Old and new friends came together to celebrate Career Wardrobe’s accomplishments and learn about its impact on individuals, families, the community, and the economy at last week’s Mission Update held at Pipeline Philly and sponsored by Accenture.

Career Wardrobe Executive Director Sheri K. Cole was joined at the podium by Danielle Fox, board member and team lead at Accenture; Farrah Parkes, Program Director at Lutheran Settlement House; Shelly White, client, volunteer, and friend; and Josh Dubin, Events Director at Pipeline Philly. Sheri showcased some impressive outcomes with guests from this past year, including:

  • 95% of clients felt more confident, better prepared, and more professional after their appointment
  • 95% remained engaged in their job search
  • 60% successfully transitioned to employment with 66% working full-time and 62% earning more than $10.50 per hour; and
  • 66% transitioned off public assistance

Farrah highlighted a multifaceted partnership between Career Wardrobe and Lutheran Settlement House including a new joint customer service training program; Shelly applauded Career Wardrobe staff for elevating her when she felt down during a stretch of unemployment; and Josh emphasized why Pipeline supports Career Wardrobe – because we not only provide an important and unique service, but we also bring together people from different backgrounds and situations to have conversations about issues facing our city and region, and discuss ways of working together to develop solutions. We are grateful for Pipeline’s generosity, welcoming us to their space and community!

Guests also enjoyed food by Bella Vista Caterers, a wine tasting by Moore Brothers Wines, music by the Joe Veltri Group, cookies from Insomnia, and other treats from Whole Foods. Raffle prizes were provided by Bistrot La Minette, Author Adam Grant, Philadelphia 76ers, Franklin Square Park, and Panera Bread.

We are grateful to everyone that came out to the event and supports Career Wardrobe finically, by attending events, clothing donations, drives, and volunteering.  We hope you continue to support our mission, and please consider becoming a Renewing Hope donors with a monthly donation of any size!
