Habit #5: Self-Transformation:
The journey of self-transformation begins once you decide you no longer live by the rules, constructs, or beliefs of others and, instead, dedicate your time and energy to discovering your strengths, challenging your courage, and empowering your perspective to find wisdom in all circumstances. The most profound transformation begins once you discover the true gift isn’t about gaining power for yourself, but in giving, empowering, and inspiring others.

It takes courage to step out of your comfort zone and stand up for yourself. It takes courage to recognize when something isn’t working and make the decision to change for the better: be it quitting smoking, finding a job, losing weight, or simply taking one step further toward a goal. Each step moves us forward and each step makes us stronger.

Don’t worry about what others may say or think. Don’t worry if people make comments – they are living their life. You have to live yours and if something needs to be changed, it is up to you to change it. Lift your head high, take your steps forward and when you see the person beside you making new strides, congratulate them for their journey. Show them respect for being courageous and doing what they have to do to improve. Give them props for being a role model for others and ignoring the negativity they may have heard.

Be a positive light and a personal cheering section for others around you and you’ll find that becomes your own motivation and guide.

If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.
