Continuing Jen Groover‘s 7 Habits to Incorporate Today to Be More Successful Tomorrow Habit #4: Jen Groover Head Shot - SmGratitude

Gratitude is one of the most powerful emotions that brings peace in every situation. It gives you a mindset of abundance that brings more of what you desire into your life.

Tis the Season to…shop, shop, shop – or that’s what the media and TV advertisers are trying to tell us. People forgoing their holiday meals with family and friends to wait in line at the Best Buy for a bargain. In this world of consumerism and consumption, we all need to step back and be grateful for the abundances we do have and stop focusing on the things we “need” or “want.”

We have an abundance of love, peace and friendship to offer, and there is no need to wait on line to get it! It doesn’t run out of stock or go out of style. It doesn’t get tossed aside for the next new shiny thing wrapped in pretty paper. We have a wealth of hope and possibility to give away freely. We have a smile that can be contagious and brighten a strangers day – just because we can.

When you’re faced with the maddening crowd and at every turn hear people tell you to drop everything and shop, shop, shop – remember the important things in your life. What you really want – what you really need and be thankful that most of the time, it’s already available to you.

They might not need me; but they might.
I’ll let my head be just in sight;
a smile as small as mine might be precisely their necessity.
