Interested in Volunteering?

Volunteer opportunities are available Monday-Saturday from 11am-5pm at The Wardrobe in Kennett Square, Philadelphia, Plymouth Meeting Mall, and Upper Darby. Volunteer opportunities are also available in Norristown from 10am-3pm, Tuesday-Thursday.

(Please note that, due to the closure of Exton Square Mall, our Exton Wardrobe location is no longer available as a volunteer site. This fall we will open a new site in Malvern to replace The Exton Wardrobe.

Volunteer shifts typically last about two hours. Many of our volunteers commit to a weekly timeframe whereas others come as needed or when they can.

Volunteers also receive a special shopping discount as a thank you from us for their time!

Current volunteers looking to sign up for a shift can do so by accessing the password protected volunteer portal.

Interested in becoming a volunteer at one of our sites? We require all potential volunteers to attend a virtual orientation which covers information about The Wardrobe, our different volunteer opportunities (program, inventory, support services) and volunteer expectations. 

After the orientation, you can indicate which area you would like to specialize in as a volunteer and learn how to sign up for your shift.

Program Volunteer Description: If you are available to volunteer regularly, we encourage you to become a Program Services Volunteer. These volunteers work one-on-one with our clients to select clothing and assist with store operations.

Inventory Volunteer Description: Help us process clothing donations that fill our stores and outfit our clients! These volunteers help process our inventory by organizing donations, hanging clothing, stream-lining items for the floor, and other tasks as needed.

Outreach & Education Volunteer Description: Become part of The Wings for Success Support Services Program. In this role, you will represent The Wardrobe at outside outreach events and present our Dressing With Confidence Workshop to interested partners. Learn more about Support Services here.

Group Volunteers: Training provided on-site during first shift

The Wardrobe is here to help you plan an impactful and fun day of service which is beneficial to your group and our mission. To provide the best service to you, we ask the organizations hosting a Volunteer Day support The Wardrobe with a $250 financial donation.

Volunteer Days Include…

• A private tour to learn more about how The Wardrobe helps people transition to independence.
• A 2-hour volunteer project at one of our locations – Philadelphia, Upper Darby, Exton or Kennett Square, PA.
• Support to plan a donation drive (clothing, toiletries or accessories) that can be dropped off during your Volunteer Day.
