Accessing Services

How can I or someone I know set up an appointment for professional clothing?

There are 2 ways a job seeker can setup an appointment for Career Wardrobe’s professional dressing services:

 

    1. Open Access *If you are looking for a low cost interview outfit & do not qualify for a complementary referral through a partner program, our Open Access program is for you!

      Open Access gives you:
      – An interview outfit
      – Boss Card – Discount at The Wardrobe Resale for a year!
      – 3 mix-and-match outfits with proof of employment & a Boss Card
      – Invitations to special events

      Co-Pay Fee:
      – $5 for individuals receiving SNAP or Medicaid benefits
      – $10 for college or high school students with Student ID
      – $15 for unemployed individuals

      To make an appointment:
      – Call 215-568-6693 x10 to schedule a visit
      – Payment is due at time of service

      * Open Access appointments can be accessed once per calendar year
      * Open Access is available to all job seekers of all identities

    2. Referral Partners
      If you are attending a job training program, receiving TANF, or working with another non-profit, please check with your program or case manager to see if you qualify for a complementary referral

I work for a nonprofit & want to refer clients. How?

    1. Become a Referral Partner!
      Open to any social service or government agency that is assisting job seekers to improve their lives

       

      Referral partnership gives you:– Access to all Career Wardrobe programs
      – Appointments scheduled within 24 to 48 hours of request
      – Refer up to 100 clients, Monday-Friday
      – Emergency appointments: made within 24-hours for job search emergencies

    2. Send Clients via Career Wardrobe’s Open Access Program

What items are acceptable to donate?

Here is a list of items we are looking for!

When & how can I donate clothing?

It’s easy! Bundle up your donations (neatly in bags or taped boxes; no hangers, please), bring them to one of our drop-off locations, get a tax receipt, & you’re done!

Your donations are greatly appreciated! Thank you!

What are the hours for donating clothing?

Philadelphia1822 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, PA 19130 (@ the corner of 19th & Spring Garden)

  • M-F 10am-6:30pm, Sat 11am-5:30pm
  • No appointment necessary!

Delaware County – 160 East 7th Street, 1st Floor, Chester, PA 19013

  • Friday 10am-4pm

Bucks County

  • Donations accepted by appointment, please call 215-568-6693 x22

Main Line – Saint George’s Episcopal Church, 1 West Ardmore Avenue, Ardmore, PA 19003

  • 2nd Tuesday of the month, from 6-7:30pm
  • Curbside assistance available

How can I donate in Bucks or Delaware Counties?

  • Donations accepted by appointment, please call 215-568-6693 x22
  • Donations of professional & casual clothing, & accessories can be made at Career Wardrobe’s Philadelphia location Monday – Saturday from noon to 6pm, or at our monthly Main Line clothing drive in Ardmore, PA on 2nd Tuesdays
  • Donation forms are available online or on-location

Is there parking? (Philadelphia)

There is a large (5-6 car length) loading zone directly adjacent to our building on the left-hand side of 19th Street just after the light @ Spring Garden Street where you may park for 30 minutes – make sure to be between the loading zone signs!

Do you pick up donations?

Sorry, but we do not have this capability

If you do not have a car, we recommend using a service (such as Lyft or Uber), or a courier that could pick up & drop off your items

There are other organizations that offer pick services

Right through our front door!

You can drop your items off anytime M-F 10am-6:30pm or Sat 11am-5:30pm at our Philadelphia location @ 1822 Spring Garden St., Philadelphia, PA 19130

We are directly on the corner of 19th & Spring Garden Streets with a large loading zone adjacent to the building on the left side of 19th Street

Do the items have to be in paper bags?

For ease of transport, we ask that items are neatly bundled in bags or taped boxes

Shopping bags, reusable tote bags, or taped boxes are preferred

Not loose, please – If you cannot carry it, we cannot carry it

No hangers please

Do you take housewares & electronics? Luggage?

Very few household items donated are usable for us!

Please keep in mind that our space is limited & disposal is not easy

We typically end up passing them along to another organizations

Do you take office supplies?

Yes!

Anything that can keep our office running smoothly is greatly appreciated!
Examples: post-it notes, staples, tape, pens, copy paper, scissors, etc.

Do you take menswear?

Yes! Career Wardrobe accepts clothing, professional, casual, & formal, for all identities!

How do I get a tax receipt? How do I value my items?
