STYLE ME HIRED—PHILADELPHIA’S CITY-WIDE MAKEOVER EVENT
100 Unemployed Women Receive Complete Makeovers, Confidence, and Hope
Career Wardrobe and Marc Voci Salon and Colorbar come together for a day of magic and makeovers. 100 area women in transition will be treated with a new look and outfit in a day full of job related workshops with an opportunity to present their new looks at a Post Reveal Job Fair.
About Style Me Hired
Marc Voci, from Marc Voci Salon and Colorbar, created Style Me Hired in 2010 with the goal of empowering women to succeed. He partnered with Career Wardrobe in 2011 to bring his vision to 100 women in one day.
“Makeovers empower women,” Voci said. “Unfortunately, women who are out of work don’t always have the resources they need to transform their look. I’m excited to see the local beauty industry come together to create such amazing synergy.”
Career Wardrobe Executive Director Sheri Cole sees this makeover program as a step in the right direction for her clients. Every woman who receives a free makeover will also receive a complimentary professional outfit from Career Wardrobe. “Makeovers are all about change and improvement,” Cole said. “Style Me Hired winners will have a considerable leg-up during their job hunts and interviews.”
“We are thrilled to be working with Career Wardrobe and other regional partners like Marc Voci who are dedicated to improving the lives of women. The Omni Hotel at Independence Park is committed to being a caring partner in the community. We look forward to great success and to making this an annual project,” Chris Laufer, Director of Sales and Marketing.
In addition to the makeovers, Style Me Hired winners will also benefit from one-on-one job search advice from the corporate partners of Style Me Hired and Career Wardrobe volunteers. A special reception to end the day will give the winners a chance to network with employers while showing off their new looks.
